Reclaimed Antique Flooring

A.E. Sampson & Son has developed over the years many resources for reclaimed antique lumber. Old warehouses, homes and barns in Maine are great sources for this prized wood. Once nails and other metals have been removed, we re-dry the wood for maximum stability. We use our precision moulder to mill each board into flooring.

Every board has a unique history and we treat them all with care. Using reclaimed wood can earn credits towards achieving LEED project certification. Because reclaimed wood is considered recycled content, it meets the Materials & Resources criteria for LEED certification. Reclaimed antique woods do have a longer lead time, so please order well in advance of scheduled installation date.

Grades

Reclaimed Antique

Nail holes, wormholes and tracks, skip dressing, knots, checking, holes and variations in color are allowed.

Floors are generally random width. Random width floors maximize wood use reducing wood waste. Every board sent is expected to be used.

Paul + Jula Sampson have forged strong relationships with loggers and mills to get lumber specifically suited to our custom grades. Our grades are unique.
